A 76-year-old man was arrested Sunday for making a bomb threat at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.

Shortly before 10 a.m., Broward Sheriff’s Office Airport District deputies responded to a bomb threat made on a JetBlue aircraft in Terminal Four.

Deputies arrested Robert Albanese, of Lindenhurst, New York, for making the threat and briefly evacuated the plane as a precaution, the office said. A K-9 unit determined there was no bomb, and there were no additional disruptions to airport operations.

Albanese is facing charges of criminal mischief over a $1,000 and making a false report about a bomb, jail records show. He was being held Monday at the Broward Main Jail.

He did not have an attorney yet, according to Broward County court records, and his arrest affidavit was not available.
