A Florida Keys woman ended up in jail after calling deputies on her adult son, who, she said, was threatening her and others with a Japanese-style sword Monday afternoon, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office referred to Jerneen Nicole Green, 51, as “one of Monroe County’s most wanted drug offenders” in a press release, and when she called deputies to report her son, 31-year-old Zjiavon Green, was damaging property and swinging a “katana-style” sword, deputies came warrants in hand for her arrest as well.

Deputies arrived at the family’s Stock Island home on 11th Avenue around 2 p.m. and arrested Zjiavon in the backyard, said sheriff’s office spokesman Adam Linhardt. When his mother called 911, he could be heard in the background threatening her, Linhardt said.

His mother told deputies that he was drinking alcohol that day, and they had an argument. He was booked into the Stock Island jail, near Key West, on an aggravated-assault charge. Deputies found the sword in the yard, Linhardt said.

But, Jerneen Green has “a myriad of arrest warrants,” Linhardt said, on charges that include cocaine and fentanyl trafficking, cocaine dealing and drug possession. She was also arrested.

According to the Monroe County Clerk of Court’s website, authorities have at least eight open criminal investigations regarding her.

On Tuesday, she was in jail on a total bond of $350,000. Her son was also still in jail on a bond of $15,000. Information about their legal representation was not immediately available.
