One teenager was killed, and two others were injured in a Monday shooting near Charles Hadley Park in Liberty City, the Miami Police Department said.

Miami police officers responded around 6:45 p.m. to a ShotSpotter alert of gunshots near Northwest 13th Avenue and 51st Street.

Officers found 19-year-old Qumourie Gay suffering from gunshot wounds, police said. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel gave aid and took Gay to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he died.

In connection with that shooting, officers found an 18-year-old man with a gunshot wound to a leg at Northwest 12th Avenue and 50th Street, police said. Then, police received reports of another 18-year-old man “who had also sustained a leg injury from the gunfire, left the scene and was at a different location.”

Police did not identify either of the injured men, who were both taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

There were no suspects in custody as of 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Officer Michael Vega, a department spokesman, said. It is still undetermined whether there was one shooter or multiple shooters.

Detectives are investigating “this tragic incident” and are asking anyone with information to contact the Miami Police Department’s Homicide Office at 305-603-6350, police said. Those who wish to remain anonymous can contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
