Man hospitalized in Fort Lauderdale shooting, police say

A man was hospitalized after being shot in Fort Lauderdale Monday evening, according to police.
The shooting happened around 5 p.m. in the 500 block of 14th Avenue, police said. When officers arrived, they found the man with a gunshot wound.
Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue took the man to Broward Health Medical Center’s trauma unit, according to police.
Police have not named the man, and his condition was not immediately available. The department also did not release any information about possible suspects. The shooting is under investigation.
