Miami Gardens cops hunt for boxer Gervonta Davis in assault case
Professional boxer Gervonta “Tank” Davis is being sought by Miami Gardens police because they allege he attacked a woman who works at a gentlemen’s club late last year.
During a Wednesday press conference, police said Davis, 31, has a warrant out for his arrest. He is likely to face charges of battery, false imprisonment and kidnapping.
According to the warrant:
On Oct. 27, Davis went to the gentlemen’s club and grabbed the woman by the back of her head, pulled her by her throat and dragged her to a parking garage.
He told her, “You think I would not find you?” He eventually let her go, and she ran to the safety of her coworkers.
Police are not releasing the name of the woman or the club, but did say she and Davis dated for five months in 2022 and ended their relationship about a month before the attack.
Davis has faced assault and domestic-violence charges in the past. On Father’s Day, he was accused of attacking a different ex-girlfriend, who is the mother of two of his children, court records show. The charges were dropped.

He was also involved in two other domestic-violences cases, one in Broward County in 2022 and another in Coral Gables in 2020. It is unclear if or how the cases were resolved.
Davis has held the World Boxing Association lightweight title since 2023. He has won 30 of his 31 fights and has one draw.
