Two men fatally shot a person and injured another during a Dec. 30 home invasion in Florida City, and the victims recorded some of the incident during a Facebook live-stream, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.

Both men went to the victims’ apartment shortly after midnight, entered their home armed and masked and demanded money, an arrest affidavit said.

“Moments later, both victims were shot by one of the defendants,” the affidavit said.

The people in the apartment were live-streaming on Facebook when they were shot, partially capturing the incident, the affidavit said.

One of the victims died, and officials brought the other victim to a hospital in stable condition.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office did not identify either victim’s first name, age or gender.

Surveillance footage showed two men arriving at the apartment building in a Blue Honda Accord and leaving after the shooting on stolen bicycles, the affidavit said.

The Honda owner told investigators he drove Roderick Terrell Everett, 34, and Christopher Hankerson, 36. He said he was familiar with the area because he previously picked up Hankerson there.

The sheriff’s office did not identify the driver or his relationship to Everett and Hankerson.

Investigators executed a search warrant on Jan. 7 at their respective homes and found two stolen bicycles that matched those seen on the surveillance footage, the affidavit said.

Everett’s cellphone data allegedly also showed his cellphone going to the victims’ apartment and staying there during the time of the shooting. He was arrested Monday.

Hankerson was arrested Tuesday. He told investigators he knew the victims and was with Everett the night of the shooting, but he denied being there during the robbery.

Both men are facing one count of first-degree murder during a home-invasion robbery, attempted first-degree murder with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, the affidavit said.

The Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office is representing Everett and Hankerson, court records show. Rebecca Coury, the assistant public defender listed on their cases, did not respond to a request for comments on their behalf.

Everett and Hankerson were being held without bond Wednesday at the Miami-Dade Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, jail records show.
