A teenager shot at his ex-girlfriend and her friend Sunday, injuring the friend, after they egged his Hialeah home, police said.

Hialeah police officers went to a Mount Sinai medical facility around 2:20 a.m. to investigate a female being treated for a gunshot wound to the arm, according to an arrest affidavit.

She told police she was shot while seated in a car in the area of East Second Avenue and Ninth Street after she and her friend egged 18-year-old Jason Alejandro Rodriguez’s house.

The Hialeah Police Department did not identify the females’ first names or ages.

Rodriguez told police his ex-girlfriend and her friend threw eggs and rocks at his car. When he heard the noise outside his home, he armed himself and went out front.

He reported being hit with an egg and a rock. Then, he allegedly saw a green laser on his body, “at which point he discharged his firearm towards the vehicle.”

Surveillance footage refuted Rodriguez’s statement to police, the affidavit said. The video showed Rodriguez was never hit by rocks or eggs

“Moreover, the video depicts the defendant exiting his residence well after the rocks and eggs had been thrown, and the vehicle is driving off when he discharges multiple rounds at the vehicle as it flees the scene,” the affidavit said.

The footage clearly depicts the vehicle “did not post a threat to him” or anyone, the affidavit said.

On Monday, Rodriguez was arrested on charges of attempted second-degree murder and shooting a deadly missile.

He was being held Tuesday night at the Miami-Dade Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, jail records show.
