A landlord hit his tenant with a hammer last month over a vehicle parked on his property, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said.

Kimber Mathew Long, 64, went to his tenant’s home on the morning of Dec. 20 and got into a fight over parking, according to an arrest affidavit.

Long allegedly armed himself with a hammer and tried to destroy the man’s motorcycle.

The man stepped in to try to stop him, and Long turned the hammer on him and started to hit him with it, causing lacerations to his head and arms, the affidavit said.

Long was arrested Tuesday at his Cutler Bay home and is facing one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon causing bodily harm, court records show.

He was being held on a $5,000 bond Wednesday at the Miami-Dade Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, jail records show.
