Two men arrested, accused of stealing mail at Hialeah apartment complex, police say
Two men were arrested Tuesday, accused of repeatedly stealing mail from residents at a Hialeah apartment complex, police said.
United States Postal Service inspectors went to apartments at 1095 W. 68th St. to investigate a report of mail theft on Dec. 21, an arrest affidavit said.
Ring doorbell camera footage showed two men taking mail six times earlier that morning. The men used a master key to open mailboxes, according to the affidavit.
During a Tuesday operation involving Hialeah police and postal inspectors, the two men — Densom Beaucejour, 33, and Thervil Alcinor, 45 — were arrested while actively trying to steal mail, the affidavit said.
They were identified as the men spotted in the Ring footage.
Beaucejour and Alcinor are both facing one count of organized scheme to defraud and one count of organized scheme to defraud conspiracy.
They had handwritten ledgers of multiple residential Hialeah addresses with corresponding mailbox numbers, the affidavit said. They declined to cooperate with investigators.
Both men had bonded out of Miami-Dade Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center as of Tuesday night, jail records show.
