Witness says 30 shots in Miami-Dade, and a man is dead and woman injured: reports

More than a dozen shots around an apartment building in Northwest Miami-Dade killed a man and injured a woman early Wednesday, according to the sheriff’s office.

Miami-Dade deputies say they were alerted by the ShotSpotter emergency alert system around 2 a.m. Wednesday. When they got to the area, they found two wounded people who were taken to the hospital by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. A man later died and a woman is in critical condition, deputies say.

A witness told reporters on the scene that he heard about 30 shots in the area of Northwest 62nd Street and 21st Avenue.

Deputies didn’t release information about suspects.
