Two people, including a teenager, were killed and another wounded after masked men opened fire at a party at a Miami Gardens rental property during the first hour of Tuesday morning, according to police.

The house, 1920 NW 175th St., is across from Parkview Elementary School. The shooting happened around 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, Officer Diana Delgado said in an email to the Miami Herald. Officers found three people shot. Two of them were airlifted to the hospital and died, and another was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Delgado told reporters on the scene that the victims, all male, were at the house party with around 30 people when three men in ski masks entered the home and began shooting. The three men then left, Delgado said, who added that it’s unclear how the attackers entered the home.

The neighborhood continued to be blocked off by police past 9 a.m. Tuesday. School is out for the holidays, so Parkview Elementary students won’t be affected. Multiple police vehicles surrounded the home. An officer went onto the property with a police K9. At least two Miami Gardens detectives could be seen wearing ski masks during the investigation.

Police say this is an isolated incident and there is no active threat to the community.
