Fort Lauderdale police investigating after woman injured in shooting
Police are investigating after a woman was shot Sunday afternoon in Fort Lauderdale, officials said.
The Fort Lauderdale Police Department and Fire Rescue responded shortly after 3:30 p.m. to a shooting on the 3000 block of 62nd Street, Detective Ali Burdick said.
Officers found the woman with injuries, and she was taken to Broward Health Medical Center, she said.
The shooter fled before police arrived, Burdick said. Investigators don’t believe there is any threat to the public at this time, and it appears the shooting was an isolated incident.
