Authorities investigate death of woman following fire in Homestead home
Authorities are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found following a blaze at a home in Homestead early Tuesday morning.
Fire rescue responded to a report of a fire in the rear unit of a duplex just south of Southwest Sixth Street and Krome Terrace at about 12:55 a.m., said Robin Pinkard, a spokeswoman for Miami-Dade Police. A body was found at the site after the fire was extinguished. It is not clear if the body was inside the home or found outside.
Homicide investigators have taken over the case to determine the cause of death. The identity of the deceased was not released by detectives but a man who identified himself as the boyfriend said the victim was Angela Ruff, 34. The cause of the fire also has not been determined.
