A woman’s body was left near a Miami-Dade business, report says
A dead woman was found lying in the road near a business in the West Perrine area early Friday morning, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, and the firm’s owner said the body was dropped off there.
Around 6 a.m., 911 calls alerted deputies to an unresponsive woman lying in the road in the 9800 block of Southwest 170th Street. Deputies and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and determined the unidentified woman was dead.
The sheriff’s Homicide Bureau is investigating the death. No cause of death was released.
“The manner and cause of death will be determined by the autopsy results conducted by the Miami-Dade medical examiner,” the sheriff’s office said.
Ron Von Paulus, the owner of Big Rob’s Tree Service, told Local 10 News that the woman’s body was left in front of his business. He said surveillance video shows a truck looping through the area around 5 a.m. before pulling over.
The driver appeared to get out, open the trunk and drag what is thought to be the woman’s body onto the ground before driving away.
“That coldness is just incomprehensible to me. How can somebody think like that? It’s just inhumane to me,” he told Local 10.
The sheriff’s office has not released the identity of the woman or if deputies are looking for a suspect.
