Shooting of 17-year-old girl stemmed from brawl in Little Havana park, police say
The gunfire that struck a 17-year-old girl at a Miami park on Saturday stemmed from a fight among a group of teens, police said Monday.
The shooting occurred around 5:40 p.m., when police received alerts about the fired bullets at Riverside Park, 342 SW Seventh Ave. Officers didn’t find anyone at the scene, police say, but were later called more than two miles north about a 17-year-old girl who was shot once in the shoulder.
The girl was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital and was in stable condition, according to Miami Herald news partner CBS News Miami. She had been shot at the park and left the area.
Video obtained by NBC6 shows a brawl breaking out among several teens before gunshots rang out. A person could be seen holding a gun, NBC6 reports.

A 16-year-old boy was also possibly grazed by a bullet, according to CBS News Miami.
