A woman is accused of firing shots at a man while driving on I-95 near Boca Raton in what authorities describe as a possible road rage incident, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.

Deputies say 26-year-old Breanna Evans opened fire on a man traveling northbound near Palmetto Park Road and Hillsboro Boulevard around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Florida Highway Patrol requested assistance from the Boca Raton Police Department and the Broward Sheriff’s Office, with BSO now serving as the lead investigative agency.

One man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. He remained in the hospital as of Thursday.

Evans is charged with two counts of attempted murder, one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle and one count of shooting from a vehicle.

Evans was booked into Broward County Main Jail on Wednesday. Deputies say Evans and the wounded man do not know each other.
