Miami man had hundreds of child abuse files on his devices: cops

A 21-year-old Miami man already jailed on charges of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl is facing additional charges after investigators uncovered hundreds of child sexual abuse files on his cellphone, including some with 1-year-old girls, police said.

The child, who was unsure of the exact day she was assaulted, was interviewed by Miami police on May 19, telling officers that she was asleep in the living room of Osher Pittman’s home when he attacked her, according to Pittman’s arrest affidavit. The girl’s mother and brother were inside the home at the time, according to the affidavit. His arrest affidavit did not specify the relationship between him and the family.

Pittman was jailed the following week on charges of sexual battery on a minor. A judge later denied him bond.

On Aug. 18, detectives received a cyber tip about child exploitation material being uploaded to Discord, a social media and gaming platform. Investigators searched Pittman’s home on NW 19th Terrace, seizing his laptop and cellphone, which contained hundreds of images showing young girls — some as young as 1 being sexually abused, Pittman’s new arrest paperwork reads. Some of the files reportedly depicted bestiality.

Pittman has been charged with 15 counts, including possession of child sexual performance material and one count of engaging in sexual conduct with animals. He remains held without bond at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, jail records show.
