Broward deputies seek public assistance in finding a 2021 murder suspect

Broward Sheriff's Office

Nearly four years after a Pompano Beach man was gunned down in Central Broward, deputies have released an image of his suspected killer Tuesday with the hopes of receiving information that leads to an arrest.

On Nov. 20, 2021, at around 12:40 a.m. near the 600 block of Northwest 27th Avenue, investigators received a ShotSpotter alert. Responding deputies found Maurice Moss,46, with a gunshot wound. Moss was taken to Broward Health Medical Center. He died at the hospital two days later.

Broward County Sheriff’s Office detectives have been searching for the gunman since.

Detectives describe the gunman as an adult male who was wearing a blue long-sleeved jacket or sweater. The jacket had white stripes on the sleeves. He wore light blue colored pants, black shoes, blue gloves and possibly a mask.

Anyone with information on this fatal shooting is asked to contact BSO Homicide Det. Kevin Nitsch at 954-321-4876 or submit a tip through the SaferWatch app. If you wish to remain anonymous, please contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477), online at browardcrimestoppers.org, or dial **TIPS (8477) from any cellphone in the United States.
