Hallandale Beach police are investigating a shooting that killed a man Thursday night.

Officers went to the 500 block of Northwest Sixth Avenue around 8:30 p.m. after receiving reports of shots fired and found 25-year-old Brandon Wamley wounded, said police spokeswoman Grace Mariot.

Paramedics took Wamley to the hospital, where he died, according to police.

Detectives believe Wamley and the gunman knew each other and say their initial findings “suggest this was an isolated incident,” Mariot said.

No one had been arrested as of Friday afternoon, Mariot said.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Hallandale Beach Police Department at 954- 457-1424. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or online at www.browardcrimestoppers.org.
