Two people wounded in a neighborhood stabbing, Fort Lauderdale police say
A woman suffered life-threatening injuries Friday in a stabbing in a Fort Lauderdale neighborhood, according to police.
Around 2 a.m., officers arrived in the 1400 block of Southwest 32nd Court after a call about a stabbing. Police say a man asked his neighbor for help after he was stabbed.
“The extent of his injuries is not known at the time,” said Casey Liening, Fort Lauderdale police spokesperson. The injured man was taken to the hospital by Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue.
Officers went inside a home and found the woman with injuries. She was also taken to the hospital by paramedics.
Police say a suspect was also found inside and was detained by officers. Both of the wounded people know their attacker, police say. Investigators believe the stabbing is a domestic violence case.
Authorities have not released any names.
