A driver opened fire from inside a car following a multi-car crash on I-95 in North Miami early Saturday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol says around 12:40 a.m. a white Jaguar SUV was involved in a collision with five other vehicles near NW 125th Street. After the crash, the Jaguar driver began firing a gun from inside the SUV.

Troopers arrived quickly and took the shooter into custody without further incident. The shooter was taken to Ryder Trauma Center for injuries from the crash and will be booked into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center once medically cleared. His name was not immediately available.

No other injuries were reported in the crash or shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
