Three people were shot in Fort Lauderdale early Sunday morning, hours before the Florida Panthers celebrated winning back-to-back Stanley Cups at the championship parade, police say.

At around 1:30 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Las Olas Circle, where the three adults had been shot on the top floor of a parking garage. Investigators say the injured people were gathered in a group when “multiple suspects approached and started shooting.”

The three injured were driven to Broward Health Medical Center, according to police.

Authorities haven’t released the identities of those injured or made any arrests as of Sunday afternoon. However, investigators say the shooting was unrelated to the Panthers’ celebratory parade — and that there was no threat to the public.

Anyone with information about the shooting should contact Fort Lauderdale Police Department at 954-828-5700 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
