2 killed, 2 injured in early morning shooting in Little Haiti, police say. What we know
Four people were shot — and two of them were killed — after an early Monday shooting near Interstate 95 in Miami, police say.
Shortly after 12:10 a.m., police were alerted to a shooting near Northwest 62nd Street and Northwest Second Avenue in Little Haiti, according to Miami police. When officers arrived, they found a man with gunshot wounds. The man was taken to Ryder Trauma Center.
Another man was located inside a black BMW riddled with bullet holes a few blocks away. He, police say, was already dead.
The two other people struck by gunfire took themselves to Ryder Trauma Center, according to police.
Police haven’t released the identities of the people killed or injured in the shooting.
“The investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident as well as the individual(s) responsible remains ongoing,” police said Monday morning.
Investigators at the scene placed evidence markers around a blue Honda Civic stopped in the intersection and searched Miami Edison Senior High School, which is located near the scene of the shooting, according to Miami Herald news partner CBS News Miami.
