Man shot in Miramar while sitting in car

Police are investigating a shooting that left a man seriously injured early Saturday morning in a Miramar neighborhood.

The victim was in a car near 7700 Fairway Blvd when he was shot by someone standing outside, according to investigators.

Two other people in the car were not hurt. The injured man was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital.

A short time later, officers located a car believed to be connected to the shooting near Nassau Drive. With help from the Broward Sheriff’s Office aviation team and Pembroke Pines Police K9 units, the car was stopped and detained.

Police say suspects are “being questioned,” but have not confirmed if any arrests have been made.

The investigation is ongoing.
