A welfare check led to the discovery of a dead person and an injured person in South Miami-Dade early Thursday morning, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.

Around 12:45 a.m., deputies who arrived at Southwest 204th Avenue and 232nd Street saw an unconscious man from a bedroom window.

Deputies say one person was declared dead in the home and another was taken to Jackson South Community Hospital in critical condition.

The nature of the injuries has not been released, but homicide detectives have taken over the investigation.
