Two airlifted after being stabbed in Key West, police say. Expect road closures
Two people were airlifted to Miami-Dade County hospitals after being stabbed in Key West Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
Around 3:30 p.m., police arrived at 800 Simonton Street and found the wounded victims, said department spokeswoman Alyson Crean.
Their conditions were not immediately available.
Crean said the suspect has been identified as 31-year-old Kentrell Freeman, but he has not located as of late Wednesday afternoon.
“He should be considered armed and dangerous. If anyone knows of his location, call 911,” police said in a Facebook post.
Crean said parts of Simonton, Petronia and Olivia streets were closed during rush hour because of the investigation.
Freeman’s criminal history in the Keys dates back to 2012, and most recently includes pending charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and violating a domestic violence injunction stemming from an arrest in September, according to Monroe County court records.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
