Shooting in Pompano Beach leaves one dead and another injured, deputies say

A late-night shooting in Pompano Beach on Thursday left one man dead and another injured, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. near the 3200 block of Northeast First Avenue.

Deputies arrived to find 25-year-old Jacarey Love suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency crews gave first aid before transporting him to a nearby hospital, where he died.

A second man was also hurt in the shooting. He was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. His name has not been released.
