Miami Gardens police are investigating a shooting that killed one man and left another person hospitalized Friday morning.

Police say the shots were fired during a domestic-violence altercation on the 4600 block of Northwest 193rd Street around 6:40 a.m.

When officers arrived, a man and a teen were found with gunshot wounds. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue paramedics took both to a hospital, where one of them, described by a police spokesperson as being a man in his 30s or 40s, died.

The other person who was shot is one of the teenage sons of the dead man’s wife, according to Miami Herald news partner CBS Miami.

Miami Gardens’ investigators on Friday afternoon were still trying to determine who the shooter was and the circumstances of the altercation, the spokesperson said.

Police have not released the names of the man who died or the wounded teen.
