Almost exactly 24 hours later, members of the department’s Investigative Unit pulled over a silver Toyota RAV4 and arrested Bilal without incident, the department said in a statement.

The woman, who police have not named, remains in critical condition, a police spokesperson said. Police have not released details of what investigators believe led to the shooting.

On Tuesday night, Ismail was being held at Turner Guilford Correctional Center with bond yet to be set by a judge on a charge of second-degree attempted murder. Information about his legal representation was not immediately available.
