A man and woman were shot dead near Little Havana in what Miami police say appears to be a murder-suicide Monday morning.

The shooting happened at 42 Northwest 27th Avenue around 8 a.m. Arriving officers found two people with gunshot wounds, said Officer Kiara Delva, a Miami police spokeswoman.

Miami Fire Rescue paramedics pronounced both people dead at the scene.

“Homicide Detectives are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident,” Delva said in a statement. “At this time it appears it may be a murder suicide case, however please keep in mind the investigation remains ongoing and details are subject to change.”

Police have not released the identities of the deceased.
