Two dead after an argument sparks stabbing at Broward apartment complex, deputies say

A dispute between a man and a woman in Dania Beach turned deadly after she was found stabbed to death in an apartment complex, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

A short time later, deputies found 42-year-old Chris Little in a hallway outside another apartment unit. Little was then taken into custody and transported to a hospital, where he later died.

Around 1:45 a.m., authorities say they received multiple 911 calls about an argument inside an eighth-floor apartment at Elevate, 600 E. Dania Beach Blvd.

“Caller is advising the neighbor is yelling for help, possibly in 812,” a dispatcher could be heard saying over Broadcastify. “....hear a male yelling at a female.”

When deputies arrived, they found 36-year-old Dareika Chery, of Lauderhill, with multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Before investigators located Little, a resident at Elevate, they say he forced his way into an apartment on the fifth floor.

Authorities did not elaborate on why or how Little died nor the relationship between he and Chery.
