A man was gunned down in a residential area in north Broward Saturday night, investigators say. Another man was detained in connection to the shooting.

Shortly after 7:15 p.m., deputies and fire rescue responded to the 900 block of Southwest 14th Street. There, they found a man with a gunshot wound, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

First responders took the man to a nearby hospital, where he died.

The man detained — who investigators say was “possibly” the shooter — fled the scene before he was apprehended. BSO homicide and crime scene detectives are investigating the fatal shooting.

It is unclear if the person detained is facing charges for the killing.
