A Fort Lauderdale man was gunned down after he and five other people were shot after an altercation at a Palm Beach County gathering early Sunday, according to police.

Around 1:40 a.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Northeast 2nd Street in Boynton Beach, where they found five people with gunshot wounds. Among them was 31-year-old Davon Wood, of Fort Lauderdale, who died after being transported to a nearby hospital.

A sixth victim transported himself to an emergency center, police say. Four of the victims suffered non-life-threatning injuries, and one remains in critical condition as of Sunday afternoon.

Police say they believe the shooting was an isolated incident.

Anyone with information should contact the Boynton Beach Police Department at 561-732-8116.
