Fort Lauderdale police identify man killed in hit-and-run. Driver still on the loose
A bicyclist has died after being hit by a car in Fort Lauderdale on Saturday morning, police say.
At about 6:10 a.m. officers arrived at the 2000 block of West Davie Boulevard after reports of a traffic crash, according to Det. Ali Adamson.
There they found the bicyclist, 58-year-old Kenneth Solovay, in critical condition. Police say the driver fled the scene.
The bicyclist was taken to the hospital by Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue where he was later pronounced dead.
Police have since located and seized the silver Mercedes Benz involved but still seek the driver.
