A woman is in critical condition after being stabbed and possibly run over by a car in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday morning, police said.

At about 9 a.m., Fort Lauderdale Police Officers arrived at the 2900 block of Southwest 13th Street and found a woman seriously injured after being stabbed. Police say it is possible she was also hit by the suspect’s car.

The area is a residential neighborhood. Police did not say if the suspect had been arrested.

She was taken to Broward Health Medical Center by Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue with “life-threatening injuries,” according to police.

Police say this is an ongoing investigation and anyone with information related to the case is urged to contact police.
