An early morning shooting in Fort Lauderdale left one man hospitalized, according to police.

At about 6:40 a.m. Friday, Fort Lauderdale Police officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 1000 block of Northwest 53rd Street. Officers were unable to find a victim.

A short time later, the man was found at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale and transported to Broward Health Medical Center for further treatment. His injuries were non-life threatening, police say.

Details of what led to the shooting were not immediately available.
