Two people were found dead at a Hallandale Beach condominium on Wednesday, according to police.

Around 12:30 a.m. Hallandale Beach police arrived at 1830 South Ocean Drive, a high-rise condo, after receiving multiple alerts from ShotSpotter, a gunshot detection system.

Officers found a man and a woman dead at the scene with gunshot wounds.

“Advising that both people are down on the balcony,” a dispatcher could be heard saying over Broadcastify. “Female on her back, one male on his face on the balcony.”

Police say they are investigating this as a double homicide but that the incident is isolated and remains under investigation.

Miami Herald news partner CBS Miami’s helicopter hovered over the scene and spotted “what appeared to be a body on the balcony of a unit on one of the upper-level floors.”

Detectives have identified the victims but say their families have not been told yet.
