Man walking near Liberty City shot in the leg
A man walking a few blocks west of Liberty City was shot multiple times by two men who got out of a car early Wednesday morning, got back in and took off.
Miami-Dade police said Larry Jackson, 28, was walking on Northwest 21st Avenue near 61st Street at 3:30 a.m. when two men showed up in a gray Chevrolet Impala, got out of the car and started shooting.
“Everyone should have the right to walk the street at 3:30 a.m. without having to face violence,” Det. Alvaro Zabaleta said.
Jackson was struck several times in the leg and was taken by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition.
The men, who got back into the car and fled, were described as being between 18 and 20, and close to six feet tall.
“In most cases, people hear things or see things that they don’t think is anything, but now that they know someone was killed that information may be vital,” Zabaleta said.
Anyone with information is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
