A 17-year-old boy was hospitalized after a shooting, Miami-Dade police said

A 17-year-old boy was shot near a Miami-Dade apartment complex Tuesday night, police said.

At about 8:22 p.m., officers arrived at 10875 SW 216 Street after receiving alerts of gunfire via ShotSpotter, a series of microphones installed in public places trained to listen for gun shots and alert police.

Upon arrival, they discovered a 17-year-old boy with a gunshot wound. He was taken to Jackson South Medical Center in stable condition by Miami Dade Fire Rescue, police said.

No arrests have been made and Miami-Dade Police continue investigating.
