One dead, one injured in overnight shooting at a Dunkin Donuts in Miramar, police say
A man died and another was left injured following an overnight shooting in Miramar at Dunkin’ Donuts, authorities say.
On Wednesday, police identified the man that died as 34-year-old Kaven Flynn.
“I got shot, I got shot,” a man can be heard telling an operator in a newly released 911 call.
At about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, the Miramar Police Department received alerts of a shooting via ShotSpotter, according to Det. Yessenia Diaz.
Police received multiple calls saying that the shooting happened at a Dunkin’ Donuts.
“They screaming by the Dunkin Donuts, please send an ambulance and some cops over there,” a nearby resident told a 911 operator.
When officers showed up to the 6200 block of Miramar Parkway, they discovered shell casings but no victims, said Diaz.
Shortly thereafter, police received a call that an adult male had shown up at Memorial Regional Hospital with a gunshot wound.
Police were then alerted that a second adult male victim was found in the 2200 block of State Road 7.
Details of what led to the shooting were not immediately available.
Police say they have witnesses cooperating with the investigation.
This report will be updated as more details become available.
