911 call reveals frantic moments after a teen was shot in Wilton Manors apartment

Newly released 911 audio shows the frantic moments after a 16-year-old boy was shot and killed by another teen while they were playing with a gun in Wilton Manors apartment.

“Please Please Please...somebody come help” a male voice can be heard begging a dispatcher.

Christopher Granados was found shot around 2:30 p.m. Monday inside a Wilton Manors apartment, 403 NW 25th St., by Wilton Manors and Fort Lauderdale police officers, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, which has taken over the investigation.

Paramedics took Granados to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, deputies say.

“Both of them were holding the gun and they were playing and one of the guns went off,” the caller says.

Dispatchers can be heard asking the caller if he saw the shooter. The caller replied: “No, no no. He ran.”

The caller tells the dispatcher that he is not sure where the shooter ran but that he went “left.” He told the dispatcher that there were two guns and the second one was “right here on the couch,” but that he does not know what type of gun it is. That is the last thing that can be heard before the call drops.

On Tuesday, BSO announced that a 16-year-old boy was arrested Monday night for the shooting of Granados. He faces one count of manslaughter with a firearm. BSO did not identify the teen.

Granados’ mother, Edith Medina, told NBC 6 that she does not know the teen charged with shooting her son or the house where it happened.

“We all think this is a dream and we are waiting to wake up,” she told the station in Spanish.
