A 24-year-old man has been charged in a string of robberies at a Brickell apartment complex where the stolen goods included an Armani watch and several Apple watches, police said Thursday.

On Wednesday, police visited an apartment complex at 79 SW 12th Stin Brickell after receiving multiple calls about burglaries. Police say there were at least 12 victims and stolen items included an Armani watch, Apple watches, a Play Station 5, debit and credit cards, purses and hundreds of dollars.

The building’s security team told police that they had seen Eric Robinson, the man charged with the burglaries, enter the building. He also shared his Instagram account with front-desk security. Police say the Instagram account helped identify Robinson.

Police say Robinson’s first burglary occurred in May. The victim met Robinson in an elevator, and after chatting, he agreed to show Robinson his rental car and gold chain. The victim allowed Robinson to wear his $1,500 gold chain, but accused Robinson of running away with it.

The victim later identified Robinson in a photo lineup, according to his arrest report.

Detectives later looked at Ring camera surveillance footage from the apartment building. They saw Robinson walking through the halls and testing door handles to see if the apartments were unlocked. They say Robinson entered unlocked apartments and would take the victim’s belongings.

Charges on the stolen credit cards were traced back to Westland Mall in Hialeah. After talking to employees at Foot Locker and JD Sports, police said the employees’ description of the customer matched Robinson.

Police say they were patrolling an area in Brownsville in Northwest Miami-Dade after receiving a tip that someone matching Robinson’s description was in the area. He was arrested outside his home Wednesday.

Robinson is charged with 11 counts of occupied burglary and four counts of third-degree grand theft.
