Shooting kills a man at apartments across the street from a Miami church, police say

A shooting early Thursday at an apartment building across the street from a Little Haiti church left one man dead, Miami police said.

Police say they found the man alive around 1:17 a.m. at 191 NW 67th St., part of a series of apartment buildings across the street from St. Matthews Free Will Baptist Church. He later died from his injuries.

Around 8 a.m. Thursday morning, Northwest Second Avenue was shut down by a swarm of police cars between Northwest 67th and 68th Streets.
