A road rage incident near Miami International Airport took a deadly turn Sunday when a man shot and killed another driver.

The man and the driver were involved in a traffic accident sometime Sunday morning close to Northwest 32nd Avenue and 35th Street in unincorporated Miami-Dade, according to police. An argument between the two escalated when the man whipped a gun out and shot the other driver.

The victim was then transported to a local hospital, where they died, according to Miami Herald news partner CBS News Miami.

The shooter later fled to a home on the 15000 block of Southwest 137th Avenue, where police say he barricaded himself. The man was ultimately taken into custody, and his identity has yet to be released.
