Police make arrest in West Miami-Dade murder

Police said they have made an arrest in connection to a murder at a west Miami-Dade home.

Miguel Diaz is being charged with second-degree murder.

Miami-Dade Police said Diaz tried to cover-up the crime by claiming someone who looked like him had broken into the home off Flagler and SW 109th Ave.

Instead, investigators said he killed his landlord.

Surveillance video captured a man entering the home through Diaz’s door, which conflicted with a story Diaz had told police.

That same surveillance camera also captured Diaz on his bicycle, which was taken away by police as evidence.

The victim has still not been identified.
