Man dies after cops shot him at Broward home. State law enforcement investigates

A man has died after Davie cops shot him early Friday morning. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating.

Around 12:30 a.m., officers shot the man at a house at 14551 SW 24th St. in Davie after responding to a medical call, authorities said. Officers said “shots were fired” after they were confronted by the man.

The man, who has not been publicly identified by police, was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

Three officers were involved in the shooting, according to police. None were injured. All three have been placed on administrative leave pending further investigation, as is standard policy.
