Marjory Stoneman Douglas High students and staff returned to their classrooms after the Parkland school was evacuated Wednesday morning following a bomb threat, according to authorities.

At 8:21 a.m., the Broward Sheriff’s Office was notified of a “possible bomb threat” at the school, Gerdy St. Louis., a spokeswoman for the agency, said in a statement.

The school was evacuated out of an abundance of caution but the all-clear was given after authorities searched the campus, St. Louis said.

Broward County Public Schools said the school’s principal has informed parents about the bomb threat.

“The safety of our students and staff is always the highest priority and we thank the Broward Sheriff’s Office for their immediate response,” school district spokeswoman Cathleen Brennan said in a statement.
