A man was gunned down at an apartment building near Miami airport, police say
Police said a man was shot to death Thursday morning at a three-story apartment building just east of Miami International Airport.
Around 6:23 a.m., officers responded to a shooting at 4271 NW South Tamiami Canal and found a man with a gunshot wound, Miami police said. The man was already dead.
At the scene, Miami police spokesperson Kiara Delva told reporters that detectives are investigating many “moving components.”
“Detectives are still trying to piece everything together,” Delva said. “This senseless violence has to stop.”
A woman who lives in the area told Miami Herald’s news partner CBS News Miami that she was helping her son prepare for school when she heard several shots.
The woman said she saw two men, wearing face masks and hoods, standing near the body before they ran away from the apartment’s parking lot.
