Two men walked into a northeast Miami-Dade County store Wednesday afternoon and fatally shot a customer, police said.

Initially, the shooting was believed to have transpired after an argument between two men, but police later clarified that two gunmen entered the store and opened fire on a patron, killing him, while others watched in horror.

It happened around 3:15 p.m. inside a store at the second floor of the Point Ives shopping center, 190 NE 190th St., police said. The name of the store is not yet clear, but CBS News Miami reported it happened at a nail salon.

After shooting the man, the two suspected gunmen, whom Miami-Dade police say were dressed in dark clothing, drove off in a white car, possibly a Mercedes.

“The motive remains unclear,” Detective Alvaro Zabaleta, a Miami-Dade County police spokesman, said in a statement.

The victim, who police say was in his mid-20s, has not been named. As of Thursday afternoon, no arrests had been announced.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call CrimeStoppers at (305) 471-8477 or leave a tip at crimestoppers305.com. All Crime Stoppers tips are anonymous.
