Argument at a Miami-area strip club ends with a woman shot to death in car, police say
An argument inside a Miami-Dade County strip club devolved into an exchange of gunfire early Friday morning, ending with a woman shot to death, police said.
Around 3:25 a.m., several people were involved in a “heated dispute” inside Club LEXX, 12001 NW 27th Ave., and it continued in the parking lot, Miami-Dade Detective Alvaro Zabaleta, a police spokesman, told the Miami Herald.
The club’s armed security guard tried to defuse the situation, police said. Shaynea Chantile Johnson, a 32-year-old woman with one of the groups, went into the backseat of a car and got a gun, police said.
She fired at the security guard, who then shot her, police said.
With the wounded Johnson still in the backseat, a driver took off and drove about two miles before stopping. Paramedics were called and found the woman dead in the car.
Police have not said if there are pending charges.
Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to call Miami-Dade & the Florida Keys Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477 or 1-866-471-8477 to give an anonymous tip. Tipsters may also visit Crime Stopper’s website at crimestoppers305.com.
